Some links and stories worth a look:
- Microsoft releases details of Zune, a sort of social networking iPod. More details here.
- Yahoo! releases its new email service, which looks nice but only highlights how full of Nigerian email scams my Yahoo! account has become.
- Talking of which, Charles Arthur from The Guardian is calling for a gibberish generator to help the 419 Nigerian scammers automate their ridiculous letters. I’m only disappointed they don’t seem to fall for our tricks anymore. (WSJ.com version here, blog version here. Full length version in the book. Oops, I promised no more shameless plugs.)
- News of a service from Sonos which allows users to access music from their streaming Internet audio directly, bypassing the PC. Great idea. Another great idea: Turning on the radio. No need for PC or Internet connection.
Hmm, I must have turned my own personal gibberish generator up too high when I wrote the post – my idea is to generate rubbish *replies* which just tie them in a welter of knots, pretending that we’re as sophisticated as they try to flatter us we seem to them – judging by their curlicued use of language.
